Our Living Room

At Piccola Gelateria, our goal is to honor our clientele with the finest house-made artisan gelato, piadina (Italian flat bread) sandwiches, fresh-made crepes, our own custom blended, micro-roasted espresso, as well as made-to-order gelato and semi-freddo cakes. It is our pleasure to bring our experiences to New Orleans and share our passion for something so seemingly simple, adding new friends to the Piccola "family" every day.

We offer seasonal specialties with all of our daily creations throughout the year.

Piccola Gelateria opened in 2016 as a dream-come-true for its owners, Ria and Ross Turnbull. Chef Ross spent 25+ years as an Executive Chef after being trained in 2 and 3 Michelin star restaurants across Europe, then traveled all over the U.S. with his wife, Ria, in the hospitality industry. Desiring a warm, inviting, classic Italian-style gelato shop of their own, they eventually settled in New Orleans. They wanted to curate an atmosphere where people could meet, relax, and enjoy themselves, as they would in a friend's living room. Through the years, they had learned that quality products paired with genuine service is everything. With daily producing of their own artisan gelato, serving their own micro-roasted espresso, and providing their clientele with the experience of their Italian "living room", their dreams became a reality in November 2016... and continue to be realized every day since.
